The Swan Lake, directed by choreographer Matthew Bourne, completely upended the concept of classical ballet. Born left only a few names and music of the great Russian composer P.I. Tchaikovsky. In 1995, after the release of Swan Lake, the production immediately received worldwide recognition and became a world bestseller.
In this version of Swan Lake, we will not see the classic fairy tale of love; here the choreographer shows a parable about human loneliness, about the conflict between the individual and society, about the search for a soul mate and the struggle with your own past. However, despite the tragedy he managed to add notes of British comedy there, which gives the performance even greater depth and versatility.
You can watch the production in St. Petersburg on the big screen in the show-space “Leningrad Center” on Potemkinskaya street, 4 September 10, beginning at 20:00.
